Hi everyone 👋 I’m back from a short break. I’ve been sick from the flu and I’m actually still recovering from the flu. I haven’t been doing much of anything besides watching movies and resting. I’m trying to get back on the working train and start working again, but I’ve been afraid. I’m afraid to overextend myself and to work too hard when I know my body needs to heal; that is mainly why I’ve been cooped up in my house for a couple of days. I also know how my body reacts to stress and being overworked. I’m not the type of person that can work when I’m sick.
I have been working on my blog though. It’s easier to do because it’s on my phone and it’s one of the only work related things I’ve done in the past couple of days besides going to teach one lesson. It’s been nice to work on my blog and give it the attention it needs. I’ve been obsessed with mommy blogs because I want to be a mommy blogger in the future. Motivational blogs are also my favorite.
I’m probably not going to write too much. I’m going to return back to my resting after writing this. I’ve been watching movies on Netflix. Olympus has fallen has been my absolute favorite movie so far. I also watched the other two movies In the series. I even watched Anger Management with Adam Sandler. I really hope I feel better tomorrow because I have my lsat class tomorrow. And I have a couple of lessons to go to. I’m also meeting my friend to hang out tomorrow. I’ll talk to you guys later!
I decided to go for it and finally make this blog into the real thing. You’re looking at the proud owner of Pocketfuloflearning.org and I’m so excited to continue posting on here. I love the way my blog currently looks and I can’t wait to expand more on here. I’m still learning the ropes of how everything works, but I’m so happy. Thank you for all the support!
I get so many questions on how to start a blog. Many people feel like it’s difficult, time consuming, and just hard. They don’t know what to write about. And some even feel like it’s a chore trying to come up with new ideas. They start to post things that they think readers want to see versus what they actually like writing about. And in the end, they become burnt out and unsatisfied. Blogging is very much like cooking. You have to simmer the pot for awhile. And if you’re slow cooking a stew, it will take hours to cook. What do you do while your stew is cooking??! You wait. It’s the waiting game. Blogging doesn’t happen overnight. It happens over many years of consistently putting out content and trying.
So how do you reenergize your blog?? I really suggest writing content that you feel good about. Write about whatever you want. When you become a different person, people can tell. It just doesn’t resonate with people and you’ll lose viewers. Creating things that you care about is much more meaningful. It will make you feel inspired and the waiting game will not seem that long anymore. Let’s all keep cooking! Our blogs are going to be great 🙂
I’m not a real fan of owning an office. I kind of like working from wherever I am. And that’s very non-traditional. I don’t think I do well with having a set place to work. I definitely wouldn’t mind having a giant desktop and a large desk, but my favorite place to work is on my bed with my laptop. Wow, that must be different but I love it.
I’ve also thought about purchasing a piano studio where I can teach my students. Traveling is something that I enjoy, but it can sometimes cause me to be very anxious. The driving time is extensive and I think I would feel a lot better if I could limit my driving time. If I had to pick some piano studio designs that I really like, I would choose something like this:
I love the concept of having a place that is yours. And I want to start collecting cool things that I can put in my studio. I currently carry all of my materials from house to house… it would be nice not to have to do that. I have some ideas for what I would want my studio to include:
1. Beanbag chairs that are extra comfortable
2. A really nice teacher’s chair
3. A desktop that has two screens for working
4. A wall to decorate with picture frames
5. Side tables with tons of drawer space
6. A comfortable rug
7. Lots of lights
8. A mini fridge
9. Tall trashcan
10. Personal restroom
11. A small bookshelf
A girl can only dream to have these things! But don’t worry, one day I’ll have all of these 🙂
What is your aesthetic? I think that everyone has a certain inclination towards patterns, colors, or fonts. For me, I’ve been really liking a simple design. I don’t want things to be complicated. And nothing is more pleasing to the eye than seeing things with a simple design. That may not be your cup of tea. And that’s okay. However, if you don’t know what you like right away, just spend the time exploring with different colors and designs.
What I don’t recommend is copying other people. Believe it or not, people are usually really bothered when they find people that are copying them. We spend so much time thinking of creative ideas and creating our own space on the internet… and there are those that use it without giving credit. That’s why I highly recommend using the time to find what you like. It will be much more worth your time when you create things that you actually like 🙂
Aesthetic. It’s something that you go by. When you have a webpage, for example, you have the ability to design things the way that you want. And when you create more content, it’s important to stick to that aesthetic. When you do that, things are cohesive and they look more put together. Below are some examples of what my aesthetic looks like right now:
How do I describe it? I just like it. I love flowers prints and galaxy designs. It’s calm and relaxing. But it’s not something that I copied from other people. It’s what I discovered that I like. And I don’t care if anyone likes it or not. Hopefully this helps you discover what you like too. Don’t forget to also have fun too!
